Shalom,

Everybody knows this famous picture. He always appear in the 25 December of Christmas. He is SANTA CLAUS.

Who is he really?

SANTA CLAUS, also known as SAINT NICHOLAS, Father Christmas, or simply "SANTA", is a figure which was was derived from the Dutch figure of SINTERKLAAS, a mythological figure who in many Western cultures, is said to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve, December 24.

What does the Bible say about SANTA CLAUS / SAINT NICHOLAS? What did our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) say about SAINT NICHOLAS?

Rev 2:6  KJV
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Rev 2:15  KJV
So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

NICOLAITANS was an ancient sect whose deeds were expressly and strongly reprobate. Some have supposed that they were the followers of Nicolas (Act 6:5), one of the first deacons of the church, whom they regard as having apostatized from the true faith.

Act 6:5  KJV
And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch.

Since "Nicolaos" means "victor of the people" and "Balaam" means "devourer of the people", the two in symbolic unity signify religious seducers of the people. It is more probable that the Nicolaitans were identical with those who held the doctrine of Balaam, mentioned in Rev 2:14 and in  2Pe 2:15, so that likely the Nicolaitans practiced fornication and the eating of things sacrificed to idols while outwardly professing Christianity.

Rev 2:14  KJV
But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

2Pe 2:15  KJV
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

So, from the Bible, if we hear the word NICOLAITANS, it always refers to FORNICATIONS and IDOLATRY.

SANTA CLAUS / SAINT NICHOLAS refers to spritual FORNICATIONS and a picture of IDOLATRY.

How can it be?

First, we must understand that the CHRISTMAS celebration in 25 December came from pagan custom worshiping the Roman Empire sun god, SOL INVICTUS. Constantine, the Roman king, established this practicing in the year 321 AD and changes the rest day from SHABBAT (the 7th day) to DIES SOLIS, the day of the sun which is SUNDAY.

For details please visit this site :
SOL INVICTUS

The day of the birth of SOL INVICTUS was called DIES NATALIS SOLIS INVICTI means "the birthday of the unconquered sun" or possibly "anniversary of the consecration of the temple of the unconquered sun".

Today we know this day as NATAL or CHRISTMAS. And guess, who is the famous actor behind CHRISTMAS? It is SANTA CLAUS.

Today SANTA CLAUS is generally depicted as a plump, jolly, white-bearded man wearing a red coat with white collar. In the Bible, who is he that always be described as great red?

Rev 12:3  KJV
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

It is SATAN!

A well-known folk legend associated with SANTA CLAUS says that he lives in the far north, in a land of perpetual snow. The American version of SANTA CLAUS says that he lives at his house on the North Pole. In the Bible, who is he that always be described lives in the north?

Isa 14:13  KJV
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

It is SATAN!

So, do you think that as Believers in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) we are suppose to celebrate this pagan custom?

2Co 6:14  KJV
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:15  KJV
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Co 6:16  KJV
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17  KJV
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18  KJV
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Be SEPARATED, be HOLY, then The Almighty God will receive us, and we shall be HIS people.

We are called NOT to celebrate CHRISTMAS, but we are called to follow Yeshua (Jesus). Yeshua (Jesus) did NOT celebrate CHRISTMAS, but He celebrated CHANUKAH.

Joh 10:22  KJV
And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
Joh 10:23  KJV
And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

So let us follow Him to celebrate CHANUKAH from 25 Kislev - 3 Tevet 5771 (1 December 2010 - 9 December 2010).

Barukh HaShem, b'Shem Yeshua HaMashiach.

Parashat Toldot - Good News To The Barren Women

Parashat Toldot ("Generations") - Good News To The Barren Women

Shalom,

This week in the Torah Portion (Parashat) is Parashat Toldot ("Generations") and is taken from :

Torah : Genesis 25:19 - Genesis 28:9.
Haftarah : Malachi 1:1 - Malachi 2:7.
Brit Chadashah : Romans 9:1-31.

Gen 25:19
And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:
Gen 25:20
And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
Gen 25:21
And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Let us study Genesis 25:21.
Gen 25:21
And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Gen 25:21

Gen 25:21
va.ye.tar yits.khak la.a.do.nai le.no.khakh ish.to ki a.ka.ra hiv va.ye.a.ter lo a.do.nai va.ta.har riv.ka ish.to

The word INTREATED (ENTREAT) in verse 21 sometimes always be thought as PRAYED. But if we look at the Hebrew word, it has deeper meaning.

The word INTREATED (ENTREAT) in Hebrew is ATAR (עְתַּ֨ר) which means : TO PRAY, TO ENTREAT, TO SUPPLICATE. The fundamental meaning of this word is that of A CRY TO THE LORD FOR DELIVERANCE.

This word ATAR
(עְתַּ֨ר) was used in Isaac's prayer concerning his wife's barrenness (Gen 25:21); and the prayers of Moses to stop the plagues in Egypt (Exo 8:8).

Exo 8:8
Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.

Scripture says that the LORD is faithful to hear such prayers (Job 33:26).

Job 33:26
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

Amen?

So the Good News to all the barren women is, our God is Faithful God. He listens to every prayer. Look at Abraham, look at Isaac, look at Jacob etc. There are many proofs of the barren women become pregnant and get children.

Remember, the nation of Israel today is from a barren woman Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel. Our God, Y-H-V-H can makes a barren woman to laugh. And the key is : ATAR
(עְתַּ֨ר);  A CRY TO THE LORD FOR DELIVERANCE, especially from the priest of the family, the husband.
