THE HEBREW YEAR 5773 - THE YEAR AYIN GIMMEL

THE HEBREW YEAR 5773 - THE YEAR AYIN GIMMEL

Shalom,

Mah Shlomkha? How is your "Shalom"? I pray that your "Shalom" is always refresh every Shabbat. This month we are already in the middle of the month of ELUL. On 17 September - 18 September, there will be the Feast of YOM TERUAH or ROSH HA'SHANAH or NEW YEAR.

17 September 2012 = 1 Tishri 5773 = 1st ROSH HA'SHANAH.
18 September 2012 = 2 Tishri 5773 = 2nd ROSH HA'SHANAH.

The year 5773 is called the year AYIN-GIMMEL.

The letter AYIN = 70.
The letter GIMMEL = 3
The year 5773 = the year 73 = the year AYIN GIMMEL.

All the ancient Hebrew letters have their own pictograph who represent each letter accordingly.

AYIN is a picture of EYE.
GIMMEL is a picture of CAMEL.

According to the Talmud the GIMMEL symbolizes A RICH MAN RUNNING AFTER A POOR MAN TO GIVE HIM TZEDAKAH / RIGHTEOUSNESS / CHARITY.

In the Tanakh, the letter GIMMEL can be seen at the word GO'EL [גאל] which is the name for the kinsmen Redeemer (Lev 25:26; Num 5:8; 35:19, 21-7; Deu 19:6, 12; Jos 20:5, 9; Rut 3:9, 12; 4:14; 2 Sam 14:11; Isa 49:7).

Y-H-V-H Himself is identified as the ultimate Redeemer of Israel and mankind (Psa 19:14).

Psa 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Y-H-V-H, my Strength, and my Redeemer.

Yeshua the Messiah is also identified as the Redeemer of mankind (Joh 4:42).

Joh 4:42
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Messiah, the Saviour of the world.

Take a note also that GIMMEL also can mean "LIFT UP," as a camel lifts up the one who is upon it. Likewise, Yeshua has been lifted up and exalted before the world as the One who has conquered sin and death on our behalf.

Could it be in this ROSH HA'SHANAH there will be a "LIFT UP"?

As the year 73, the year AYIN GIMMEL means TO WATCH AN EYE FOR LIFT UP, could it be a hint for RAPTURE is imminent in ROSH HA'SHANAH?

ROSH HA'SHANAH is known as the FEAST OF NO ONE KNOW THE DAY OR THE HOUR. It is because the FEAST is celebrated in 2 days which are at 1st Tishri and 2nd Tishri.

We don't know when the RAPTURE will be. Will it be on the 1st Tishri ROSH HA'SHANAH or will it be on the 2nd Tishri ROSH HA'SHANAH?

As for us, we are to keep WATCHING, don't let us fall asleep. The year AYIN GIMMEL is at the hand.

DEFINING THE WORD "TORAH"

DEFINING THE WORD "TORAH"
Andre Widodo
© ORI

Shalom,

Often people consider the word TORAH to refer to the first five books of the Hebrew Bible : Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. But let us wait and hold for a second.

We must go deeper to examine and make a proper definition what TORAH really means.

H8451
תּרה  /  תּורה
tôrâh
BDB Definition :
1) law, direction, instruction
1a) instruction, direction (human or divine)
1a1) body of prophetic teaching
1a2) instruction in Messianic age
1a3) body of priestly direction or instruction
1a4) body of legal directives
1b) law
1b1) law of the burnt offering
1b2) of special law, codes of law
1c) custom, manner
1d) the Deuteronomic or Mosaic Law
Part of Speech: noun feminine.

Defining the word "TORAH"

1.  TORAH as the writings of Moses. Among more Orthodox Jews, Torah literally refers to the individual letters written on kosher parchment as dictated from heaven and perfectly recorded by Moses on Mount Sinai. These writings of Moses have been meticulously preserved by the Jewish scribes (soferim) over the millennia in the form of a Sefer Torah, or Torah scroll, which is considered to be the most sacred object of Jewish life.

Note that Torah in this sense NOT only refers to the physical parchments that comprise a Sefer Torah, but to the various mitzvot (commandments), chukkim (statutes), and mishpatim (ordinances) established at the covenant of Sinai, with the Ten Commandments as its underlying foundation.

2. TORAH as the Written and Oral Law. A more traditional Jewish understanding of the word TORAH refers to the written TORAH scroll of Moses and the Oral TORAH, both of which are believed to be revealed to Moses on Sinai.

The Written TORAH
(called TORAH shebikhtav) is comprised of the Five Books of Moses.

The Oral TORAH (called TORAH sheba'peh) was later codified as the Mishna (Repetition/Oral Law) and Talmud (Interpretations), and provides authorized commentary to the Written Torah.

Mishna is the earlier part of the Talmud; divided into six orders or parts (sedarim) of sixty three tractates.  Each sedarim focuses on a different area of Jewish life : Agriculture, Shabbat and Holidays, Civil Law, Family Relations, Temple Sacrifices and Ritual Purity.

Talmud is an encyclopedic collection of legalistic interpretations consisting of the Mishnah (oral law) and Gemarah (commentary on the Mishnah). Talmud is also called Shash, an abbreviation for Shisha Sidarim, the six orders of the Mishnah that form the basis of the Talmud. Shas and Chumash with Rashi is considered a good Jewish religious education. Sometimes the Talmud is also referred to as Gemarah.

After the Mishnah was published it was studied exhaustively by generations of rabbis in both Babylonia and Israel. Over the next three centuries additional commentaries on the Mishnah were compiled and put together as the Gemarah. Actually there are two different versions of the Gemarah, one compiled by the scholars in Israel (400 AD) and the other by the scholars of Babylonia (500 AD).

Together the Mishnah and the Gemarah form the Talmud, but since there are two different Gemarahs, there are two different Talmuds. The Mishnah with the Babylonian Gemarah form the Talmud Bavli (Babylonian Talmud) and the Mishnah with the Jerusalem Gemarah form the Talmud Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Talmud).

Since the Gemarah functions as a commentary to the Mishnah, the orders of the Mishnah form a general framework for the Talmud as a whole (however not every Mishnah tractate has a corresponding Gemarah).

Often the words of the prophets (nevi'im) and writings (ketuvim) are included in this usage of the word Torah (though they are given a subordinate position in terms of revelatory authority). In this usage, then, TORAH refers to what would be commonly called the Old Testament Scriptures (the Tanakh) as well as the Mishna/Talmud.

3. TORAH as Jewish Halakhah and Custom. The previous definition of TORAH does not really do justice to the traditional (and Rabbinical) view, which considers Torah to be not only the written and oral Torahs, the nevi'im and ketuvim, but also the entire corpus of Jewish religious literature as expressed as the majority view of the rabbis and their legal decisions since the time of the destruction of the Second Temple (the period of the Sanhedrin) to the present.

Collectively this view of TORAH may be referred to as halakhah, a line of transmission from God to Moses (in the TORAH), through the prophets, through the men of the Great Assembly, the Talmudic Rabbis and the Talmudic literature, down to several medieval codes and their respons.

In short, halakhah refers to the collective corpus of Jewish rabbinic law, custom and tradition. Halakhah also includes the rabbinical idea of putting a "fence" around the commandments of the written TORAH to ensure compliance with the mitzvot.

Interestingly enough, Jewish tradition seems to go two ways with this idea of TORAH as halakhah. On the one hand, it tends to enumerate the various commandments of the Scriptures and engages in various halakhic (legal) discussions regarding the meaning and application of case law, and on the other hand it tends to distill the various commandments to more general principles that are fewer and fewer in number.

4. TORAH as Divine Instruction. The word Torah comes from the root word (YOD-RESH-HEY) - (YARAH) meaning "to shoot an arrow" or "to hit the mark".

H3384
ירא  /  ירה
yârâh  /  yârâ'
BDB Definition:
1) to throw, shoot, cast, pour
1a) (Qal)
1a1) to throw, cast
1a2) to cast, lay, set
1a3) to shoot arrows
1a4) to throw water, rain
1b) (Niphal) to be shot
1c) (Hiphil)
1c1) to throw, cast
1c2) to shoot
1c3) to point out, show
1c4) to direct, teach, instruct
1c5) to throw water, rain
Part of Speech: verb

The word basically means the "direction" or "instruction" of mankind regarding the revelation of God's will. Understood in this most general way, TORAH obviously pre-dates or before the giving of the Sinatic Law to Israel, as the following examples demonstrate :

# Adam and Eve were instructed that there was only one God whom they were to obey in covenant relationship (Gen 2:16-17).

Gen 2:16  KJV
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen 2:17  KJV
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

This is essentially the first commandment ("I am the LORD thy God.")

# After their sin (which was essentially a violation of the second commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me"), Adam and Eve were graciously given the promise of redemption (Gen 3:15) and the law of blood sacrifice (Gen 3:21).

Gen 3:15  KJV
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Gen 3:21  KJV
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

# Both Cain and Abel brought offerings to the LORD, but Abel's was regarded as a right (blood) sacrifice whereas Cain's was rejected (Gen 4:3-7).

# After murdering his brother, Cain was given the sixth commandment: "Thou shalt not kill" (Gen 4:10-16).

# Enoch was such a godly man that he "was not" in his end. How is it that one man is godly and another is not if there is no instruction from the LORD?

# Seth and his son Enosh began to call upon the Name of the Lord (Gen 4:26), and their descendant Noah "walked with God" (Gen 6:9).

# The Great Flood was a judgment from the LORD against worldwide apostasy and chronic idolatry (Gen 7).

# Noah offered sacrifices to the LORD and distinguished between the "clean" and the "unclean" animals (Gen 7; Gen 8:20). God furthermore gave him laws regarding not eating blood (Gen 9:4) and instituted human governmental authority for capital offenses (Gen 9:6-7).

Gen 8:20  KJV
And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Gen 9:4  KJV
But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

# The idolatrous humanism of ancient Bavel was judged by the LORD (Gen 11)

# The covenant God made with Abraham was unilateral in the sense that only God participated in the covenant ritual (Gen 15:9-21); Abraham's response of faith was counted to him as tzedakah (righteousness).

# Of Abraham it is written that "Abraham obeyed (shema) my voice and kept (shamar) my charge, my commandments (mitzvot), my statutes (chukkim), and my laws (torah).

Gen 26:5  KJV
Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Note :
Before Sinaic Laws, God had given His Commandments, Statutes, Laws.

# Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all offered acceptable sacrifices to the LORD, thus implying an understanding of the laws of sacrifice.

# Moses obeyed the commandments of the LORD and went into Egypt to deliver the Israelites from bondage before he was given the lawcode on Mount Sinai.

In this most general sense of the term, then, TORAH can be understood as simply as INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT HOW TO LIVE RIGHTLY BEFORE GOD AND WITH MEN

Presupposed in this definition is the establishment of a covenant between God and mankind wherein the scope of what constitutes Torah (the terms of the agreement) may be understood.

In this regard, the 7 covenants revealed in Scripture (the Edenic, the Adamic, the Noahic, the Abrahamic, the Mosaic, the Davidic, and the Messianic/New Covenant). Each covenant presents a different set of laws regarding how to be rightly related to God.

Moreover, each of the covenants is ultimately predicated upon the promise of the Coming Seed (Ben Elohim) - (Son of God) who would remove the kelalah (curse) upon mankind and restore the children of man back to God.

Example :

From Abrahamic Covenant :
Gen 22:16  KJV
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
Gen 22:17  KJV
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
Gen 22:18  KJV
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

From Mosaic Covenant :
Deu 18:15  KJV
The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

Deu 18:18  KJV
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
Deu 18:19  KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

So, now, what is your understanding with the word "TORAH"?

My own view as the follower of Yeshua the Messiah, is that the TORAH is eternal, and the New Testament has not abrogated it. But in its totality, the TORAH must be understood and interpreted in the light of what Yeshua the Messiah.

Next article I will be sharing the TORAH OBSERVANCE AS MESSIAH FOLLOWERS.

Blessing in Yeshua's Name.

Rev 14:12
Here is the patience of the SAINTS: here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD [מִצְוָה - MITZVAH], and the FAITH [אֱמנָה - EMUNAH] of YESHUA (JESUS).

Inside the TORAH, there are :
1. COMMANDMENTS [מִצְווֹת - MITZVOT].
2. JUDGEMENTS [מִּשְׁפָּטִים - MISHPATIM].
3. STATUTES [חֻקָּים - CHUKKIM].
4. LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD [לֵוִי כֹּהֲנִים - LEVI COHANIM].

THE SAINTS OF GOD are they who keep the TORAH and who have FAITH in MASHIACH YESHUA.

Daniel 8:25
...by PEACE [FALSE PEACE] shall destroy many.

The Bible has prophecied the Anti-Messiah (Anti-Christ) later he will promote a FALSE PEACE, and by PEACE shall destroy many.

Now, this tactic has been being promoted by the Iranian Regime to get the Nuclear ability. They say that their Nuclear program is for PEACE, but on the other hand they are willing to destroy Israel to open the way for their 12th Imam, Imam Mahdi.

And he will promote FALSE PEACE.

IAEA concludes Iran is working on Nuclear weapons

ANI L'DODI V'DODI LI [אני לדודי ודודי לי] - I am My Beloved's and My Beloved is Mine.

This month we are in the month of ELUL [אֱלוּל]. It is the month of TESHUVAH [תשובה‎] or REPENTANCE before we enter 3 FEASTS next month ROSH HA'SHANAH, YOM KIPPUR and SUKKOT.

The word ELUL [אֱלוּל] actually is a short form of ANI L'DODI V'DODI LI [אני לדודי ודודי לי]. If we take the red letters then it will be ELUL [אֱלוּל].

It is the month to say :
ANI L'DODI V'DODI LI [אני לדודי ודודי לי] - I am My Beloved's and My Beloved is Mine. To return to our Messiah Yeshua.

Shalom,

How do we get the Name "Yeshua" as the Name of Messiah?

This is really quite a simple exercise. The name יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshua) appears multiple times in Ezra and Nehemiah and once in each of the books of Chronicles.

1Ch 24:11  KJV
The ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,

1Ch 24:11  Westminster Leningrad Codex
 לְיֵשׁ֙וּעַ֙ הַתְּשִׁעִ֔י לִשְׁכַנְיָ֖הוּ הָעֲשִׂרִֽי

1Ch 24:11  Hebrew Transliteration
le.ye.shu.a ha.te.shi.i lish.khan.ya.hu ha.a.si.ri

In the English, you can usually find it as "Jeshua".

To arrive at the correct pronunciation, however, we have to accept and fully understand the Masoretic vowel pointings.

Those who are insistent upon the "YAHshua" pronunciation reject the traditional Masoretic vowel pointings when it does not suit their beliefs. Or the other possibility is, they do not understand the Hebrew.

The name begins with a Hebrew letter י (YOD), which carries with it the sound of our English "Y".

The vowel point associated with the YOD is the "ֵ"(tsere).

Tsere ( Hebrew : צֵירֵי‎, sometimes צירה ) is a Hebrew niqqud vowel sign represented by two dots "ֵ" underneath a letter.

In modern Hebrew, it indicates the phoneme /e/ which is the same as the "e" sound in "sell" and is transliterated as an "e". In modern Hebrew, a tsere makes the same sound as a segol.

Segol (Hebrew : סֶגּוֹל‎) is a Hebrew niqqud vowel sign that is represented by three dots forming an upside down equilateral triangle "ֶ".

So, with tsere, it makes the vowel sound "eh" in sephardic/modern Hebrew ("ey" in Ashkenazi).

Let's look again at the Hebrew Name :
יֵשׁ֙וּעַ֙
So the first letter is the
יֵ (YOD) and with the tsere ( two dots "ֵ" underneath a letter ) , the sound is "yeh".

The second letter is the
שׁ֙ (SHIN) and makes the "sh" sound.

The third letter is the
וּ  (VAV) with the וּ (shuruk) pointing, which makes an "oo" sound. (The ו alone makes a "v" sound, but when it appears as וּ the ו functions as a vowel.)

Together, יֵשׁוּ makes the sound "yeh-shoo". The final letter is the ע (AYIN).

By itself, the
ע is a silent letter, however, it appears as עַ with the ַ (patakh) vowel pointing, which adds the "ah" sound to the letter.

Together, the three syllables of יֵשׁוּעַ are pronounced "yeh-shoo-ah".

We transliterate this in English as "Yeshua."

TORAH IS THE HEART OF GOD

TORAH IS THE HEART OF GOD
Andre Widodo
© ORI

Sh'lom,

Ma Sh'lomcha? How is your SH'LOM [PEACE] today?

We know that the greatest commandment comes from the Torah :

Deu 6:4  KJV
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.
Deu 6:5  KJV
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6  KJV
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart.

 Deu 6:4  CJB
"Sh'ma, Yisra'el! Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad [Hear, Isra'el! Adonai our God, Adonai is one];
Deu 6:5  CJB
and you are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources.
Deu 6:6  CJB
These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart;

We know the Hebrew word for father is "av".

The letters "Aleph" and "Bet".

The letter "Hey" in Hebrew means "to reveal".

The letter "Hey".

So if you look at the Hebrew word for "love" you find the letter "hey" added in the middle of the word for Father.

Love -
אהב

Father -
אב

So we find the word for "love" is really "to reveal" who the Father is!

1Jn 4:8  KJV
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

The Hebrew word for "heart" is "lev".

Going from the right to the left we have the letter "Lamed" and the letter "Bet".

Did you know the first letter of the Torah is the letter "beit" ?
The letter "bet" -
ר
The Hebrew word for "In the beginning" is בראשׁית.

Gen 1:1  KJV
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Gen 1:1  HOT
  בראשׁית ברא אלהים את השׁמים ואת הארץ׃

Did you know the last word of the Torah is "Israel" and the last letter is the letter "lamed"?

The letter "lamed" - ל
The letter "Israel" - ישׂראל

Deu 34:12  KJV
And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel. So if you take the last letter of the Torah and the first letter of the Torah and put them together we have the word "heart"!

The last letter is :
"lamed" - לThe first letter is : "beit" - ר

It becomes :

which means : "heart".

So we also see the Torah is the heart of God!

May ADONAI bless you in your study. Blessing in the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach.

HOW DID YESHUA VIEW THE TORAH?

HOW DID YESHUA VIEW THE TORAH?

Sh'lom,

Ma Sh'lomcha? How is your SH'LOM [PEACE] today?

Have you ever asked, "What did Yeshua (Jesus) teach from"? Did Yeshua (Jesus) bring totally new teachings?

Let us see!

And "The Greatest Commandment" according to Yeshua (Jesus) is from the Torah. Yeshua (Jesus) quoted from the Torah.

Mar 12:28  KJV
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
Mar 12:29  KJV
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mar 12:30  KJV
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31  KJV
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Mar 12:28  CJB
One of the Torah-teachers came up and heard them engaged in this discussion. Seeing that Yeshua answered them well, he asked him, "Which is the most important mitzvah of them all?"
Mar 12:29  CJB
Yeshua answered, "The most important is, 'Sh'ma Yisra'el, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad [Hear, O Isra'el, the Lord our God, the Lord is one],
Mar 12:30  CJB
and you are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding and with all your strength.'
Mar 12:31  CJB
The second is this: 'You are to love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other mitzvah greater than these."

As we can see, Yeshua (Jesus) quoted from Deu 6:4-8.

Deu 6:4  KJV
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5  KJV
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6  KJV
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7  KJV
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deu 6:8  KJV
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Deu 6:4  CJB
"Sh'ma, Yisra'el! Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad [Hear, Isra'el! Adonai our God, Adonai is one];
Deu 6:5  CJB
and you are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources.
Deu 6:6  CJB
These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart;
Deu 6:7  CJB
and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deu 6:8  CJB
Tie them on your hand as a sign, put them at the front of a headband around your forehead,

Joh 14:6  KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 14:6  CJB
Yeshua said, "I AM the Way — and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.

What is that way?
Psa 119:1  ALEPH.
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
Psa 119:1  א (Alef)
How happy are those whose way of life is blameless, who live by the Torah of Adonai!

And what is Truth?

Psa 119:142  KJV
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
Psa 119:142  CJB
Your righteousness is eternal righteousness, and your Torah is truth.

And what is Life?

Pro 13:14  KJV
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Pro 13:14  CJB
The teaching of a wise man is a fountain of life, enabling one to avoid deadly traps.

The Helmet of Salvation(Yeshua) covers our head; Protecting our eyes, ears, and mouth.

Isa 59:17  KJV
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation [ ישׁוּעה - Yeshua] upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
Isa 59:17  CJB
He put on righteousness as his breastplate, salvation [ ישׁוּעה - Yeshua] as a helmet on his head; he clothed himself with garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in a mantle of zeal.

Pro 7:2  KJV
Keep my commandments, and live; and my law [תּורה - tôrâh] as the apple of thine eye.
Pro 7:2  CJB
Obey my commands, and live; guard my teaching [תּורה - tôrâh] like the pupil of your eye.

Pro 28:9  KJV
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Pro 28:9  CJB
If a person will not listen to Torah, even his prayer is an abomination.

Mal 2:6  KJV
The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
Mal 2:7  KJV
For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
Mal 2:8  KJV
But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
Mal 2:9  KJV
Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

Mal 2:6  CJB
The true Torah was in his mouth, and no dishonesty was found on his lips; he walked with me in peace and uprightness and turned many away from sin.
Mal 2:7  CJB
A cohen's lips should safeguard knowledge, and people should seek Torah from his mouth, because he is the messenger of Adonai-Tzva'ot.
Mal 2:8  CJB
But you turned away from the path, you caused many to fail in the Torah, you corrupted the covenant of Levi," says Adonai-Tzva'ot.
Mal 2:9  CJB
"Therefore I have in turn made you contemptible and vile before all the people, because you did not keep my ways but were partial in applying the Torah."

Psa 1:2  KJV
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:2  CJB
Their delight is in Adonai's Torah; on his Torah they meditate day and night.

Psa 119:97  KJV
MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
Psa 119:97 CJB
מ (Mem) How I love your Torah! I meditate on it all day.

Psa 119:44  KJV
So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.
Psa 119:45  KJV
And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
Psa 119:44  CJB
and I will keep your Torah always, forever and ever.
Psa 119:45  CJB
I will go wherever I like, for I have sought your precepts.

Isa 51:7  KJV
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
Isa 51:7  CJB
"Listen to me, you who know justice, you people who have my Torah in your heart: don't be afraid of people's taunts, don't be upset by their insults.

We meditate on Torah, look at Torah, listen to Torah, speak Torah, walk in Torah, seek Torah, delight in Torah, the Torah is in our heart. There is liberty in Torah!

For Torah is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. For Yeshua is the Living Torah and we have the mind of Messiah! Isn’t great to know He is the same yesterday, today and forever! His Word is the same yesterday, today and forever!

His Word will stand forever!

Perhaps some people may ask, what does "Torah" really mean?

תּוָֹרה - tôrāh
tōrāh :
A feminine noun meaning instruction, direction, law, Torah, the whole Law. This noun comes from the verb yārāh (H3384), which has, as one of its major meanings, to teach, to instruct.

The noun means instruction in a general way from God; for example, Eliphaz uttered truth when he encouraged Job and his readers to be willing to receive instruction from God, the Almighty (Job 22:22). In Israel, a father and mother were sources of instruction for life (Pro 1:8; Pro 6:20); along with wise persons (Pro 13:14; Pro 28:4).

In contrast, rebellious people were not willing to accept God's instructions in any manner (Isa 30:8-9); the scribes handled the instructions of the Lord deceitfully and falsely (Jer 8:8). Various words are found in synonyms parallel with this term: It is paralleled by the sayings of the Holy One (Isa 5:24); the word of the Lord (Isa 1:10); and the testimony or witness (Isa 8:20). It is used regularly to depict priestly instructions in general or as a whole. The Lord rejected the priests of Israel for they had disregarded ( forgotten) the Law (Jer 2:8; Hos 4:6). They had been charged to carry out and teach all the instructions of the Lord (Deu 17:11).

Torah means “teaching” and is good for reproof, correction & instruction in righteousness!

2Ti 3:16  KJV
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Pro 6:23  KJV
For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Pro 13:9  KJV
The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

Mat 25:8  KJV
And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

The foolish virgins are the ones without torah! Without the instruction!

Lam 2:9  KJV
Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.

Pro 29:18  KJV
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Keep in His Word. Keep in His Torah (instruction) as Yeshua (Jesus) kept the Torah (instruction).

Blessings and loves in Yeshua's Name our Messiah.

FOR ZION'S SAKE - WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS

  Friday, 17th August 2012   29 Av 5772
WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS
"But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows." Yeshua,  ( Mark 13:7-8 )
"Set up the standard toward Zion. Take refuge! Do not delay! For I will bring disaster from the north, And great destruction..." God, ( Jeremiah 4:6 )
Shabbat Shalom!

Anyone following daily intelligence reports from Israel knows that the threat of war is looming once again in the middle East. Many Israeli politicians and IDF top brass are presenting their doomsday scenarios while Israelis instinctively sense that this is the lead-up to another imminent and bloody conflict with Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran. Lines are forming in cities for new Israeli gas masks. Many are finding that there are not enough for everyone in the country.

Makeshift bomb shelters are being hastily built throughout Israel, including underground parking lots. There simply are not enough shelters for every citizen. Unfortunately, many of the shelters that that do exist are neglected and undersupplied.
Read these recent headlines for yourself...
✡ Gas masks in demand as Israel tracks Syria's
chemical and biological arms
(Reuters) - The Syrian government is still in full control of its chemical weapons stockpiles, Israeli defense officials said on Tuesday, in an apparent bid to calm fears that a non-conventional war could be looming.

Israeli minister says Hezbollah access to arsenal is ""red line"

Syria's 16-month-old conflict has spread concern that the chemical arsenal, acknowledged by Damascus for the first time on Monday, could fall into the hands of Hezbollah, the Lebanese Islamist group allied to Iran and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, or that Assad could use then in a desperate last stand.
✡ Israelis grab gas masks as Iran attack threat rises

(Bloomberg News) Israelis crowded in front of a storefront at a Jerusalem shopping mall this week to pick up new gas masks, part of civil defense preparations in case the military strikes Iran and the Islamic Republic or its allies retaliate.

“Our leaders seem to have gotten very hawkish in their speeches, and this time it seems they mean what they say,” said Yoram Lands, 68, a professor of business administration, who was picking up new masks for himself and his wife at a distribution center in the mall.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told visiting U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta this month that time “is running out” for a peaceful solution to Iran’s atomic program.
✡ Israelis grab gas masks as Iran attack threat rises
50 or so parking lots will serve as a solution for those who don’t have a bomb shelters.
(Jerusalem Post) In the coming weeks, the Tel Aviv Municipality will release a list of dozens of underground parking lots that can be used by the public in the case of a missile attack on the Israeli home front, the municipality said on Tuesday. According to the city, the estimated 50 or so parking lots represent around 800,000 square meters of space and will serve as a solution for those residents who don’t have a bomb shelter in their house or nearby.
✡ We May Need to Destroy Parts of Lebanon
(and Gaza) to Stop Rockets
(Jerusalem Post) Israel may need to destroy parts of Lebanon and Gaza if Hezbollah and Hamas rain missiles upon the country in response to an Israeli attack on Iran, former Mossad head Danny Yatom said Monday. Those rockets, he said, can "cover all of Israel, and that is the main problem."

Yatom said that the lesson Israel learned from the 2006 Second Lebanon War, when Hezbollah fired hundreds of rockets on the north, was that "we will have to stop the firing of missiles, both from the north and the south, as quickly as possible." To do this, he said, Israel would have to "act with great force against infrastructure in Lebanon and Gaza, and it is possible that the price that Lebanon and Gaza will pay will be horrible. We are liable to destroy, or likely to destroy, parts of Lebanon, and parts of Gaza, so that our citizens will not suffer and be killed."
✡ Iran can build a Nuclear bomb by October 1
DEBKAfile At its present rate of enrichment, Iran will have 250 kilograms of 20-percent grade uranium, exactly enough to build its first nuclear bomb, in roughly six weeks, and two-to-four bombs by early 2013, military and intelligence sources report. Hence the leak by an unnamed Israeli security source Sunday, Aug. 12, disclosing Iran’s progress in developing the detonator and fuses for a nuclear warhead which can be fitted onto Shehab-3 ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israel.

Since 20 percent refined uranium is a short jump to weapons grade fuel, Iran will have the capability and materials for building an operational nuclear bomb by approximately October 1.

A call to prayer and intercession
Now is the time to pray and intercede for the nation of Israel! We know that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual! We must believe that our prayers (weapons of warfare) will truly assist Israel during the looming threat of war in the weeks ahead…
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…" 2 Corinthians 10:4
As the birth pangs of this age increase in speed and intensity, we know we are getting closer to the end and the new beginning of Messiah’s Kingdom that will be established in Jerusalem. Like our title verse says in Mark 13:8 ‘these are the beginnings of birth pains..."

More than ever, today is the day, now is the time to rise up from our sleep, cast off the works of darkness and begin to intercede with fervent prayer as His Word teaches us to watch and pray!

You too can be a (IDF) prayer warrior, guarding the borders of Israel with blankets of prayer day and night; as it is written:
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither
slumber nor sleep Psalm 121:4
PRAY THE WORD OF GOD…
[Elisha] answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them..." And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, "Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.' And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha." 2 Kings 6:16-18

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Psalm 91:5-6

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me," says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17
"Father, In Yeshua's name, do not allow the enemies of your people accomplish their plans of destruction. May Your will, and Your will alone be done in both Israel and the nations surrounding her…" AMEN!

MONTH OF ELUL - MONTH OF TESHUVAH

MONTH OF ELUL - MONTH OF TESHUVAH
Andre Widodo

Chaverim, this Shabbat we'll be entering Rosh Chodesh / the New Month of ELUL. ELUL is known as the MONTH OF TESHUVAH / the MONTH OF REPENTANCE in preparation of High Holy Days in the month of TISHRI : ROSH HA'SHANAH, YOM KIPPUR and SUKKOT.

Preparations for theses Holy Days begin with a thirty day period of repentance during the entire month of ELUL and ends at YOM KIPPUR on 10 TISHRI.

These FEASTS of ROSH HA'SHANAH, YOM KIPPUR and SUKKOT are known as FALL FEASTS. These FEASTS reveal the rapture of the KEHILLAT MASHIACH (Bride of Mashiach), the 2nd COMING of Yeshua the Mashiach and the national conversion of Israel, God's original-covenant people with ONE BODY in MESSIAH, and - especially in SUKKOT - the final restoration of the earth in the olam habah (world to come) or MESSIANIC KINGDOM where Yeshua will be the King of kings.

SHAVUA TOV - 24 AV 5772

SHAVUA TOV - 24 AV 5772

Deu 8:5-6
Think deeply about it: ADONAI was disciplining you, just as a man disciplines his child. So obey the mitzvot of ADONAI your God, living as He directs and fearing Him.

Shavua Tov to all beloved of HaShem, have a blessed week a head, in Yeshua's Name.

INSIDE THE TORAH

INSIDE THE TORAH
Andre Widodo
© ORI

Inside the TORAH, there are :
1. COMMANDMENTS [מִצְווֹת - MITZVOT].
2. JUDGEMENTS [מִּשְׁפָּטִים - MISHPATIM].
3. STATUTES [חֻקָּים - CHUKKIM].
4. LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD [לֵוִי כֹּהֲנִים - LEVI COHANIM].

The first 3 are mentioned several times in Deu 4:1; Deu 4:40; Deu 4:45 etc. In our Torah Portion today, it is mentioned again in Deu 8:11.

Deu 8:11
Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his COMMANDMENTS, and his JUDGEMENTS, and his STATUTES, which I command thee this day.

And regarding the LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD, it's all written in the book of Leviticus.

Yeshua, our Messiah said :

Mat 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the TORAH, or the PROPHETS: I am not come to destroy, but to FULFILL.

Yeshua did NOT destroy the TORAH. Amen? Amen!

We understand that the TORAH consists of COMMANDMENTS, JUDGEMENTS, STATUTES and LEVITICAL PREISTHOOD.

Can the COMMANDMENTS be FULFILLED? No! The COMMANDMENTS are for us to OBEY, not to be FULFILLED. Yochanan said that through the COMMANDMENTS we will know what SINS really are.
1Jo 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the TORAH: for SIN is the transgression of the TORAH.

Can the JUDGEMENTS be FULFILLED? No! The JUDGEMENTS now are on the hand of Yeshua the Messiah.

Can the STATUTES be FULFILLED? No!

Can the LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD be FULFILLED? Yes! We are no longer sacrifice the animal, because it is impossible for the blood of animal to take away the sin.

Heb 10:4
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
It's only by the blood of the Lamb of God, the Messiah Yeshua.

This is why Mat 5:17 says : that Yeshua come to FULFILL the PRIESTHOOD. The animal sacrifice is only a shadow to come until the Messiah comes as Rabbi Sha'ul says that it is impossible for the blood of animal to take away the sin.

Luk 24:44
And He (Yeshua) said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be FULFILLED, which were written in the TORAH of Moses, and in the PROPHETS, and in the PSALMS, concerning ME (Yeshua).

The TORAH, NEVI'IM and KETUVIM is all about Yeshua.

Consider this fact.

When Yeshua was being tempted in the wilderness by the Satan, what did Yeshua do? He used the TORAH. He quoted the TORAH.

The TORAH is never be abolished.

The Believers in the book of Acts, they BELIEVED in Yeshua and they were ZEALOUS also for TORAH.

Act 21:20
And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which BELIEVE; and they are all ZEALOUS of the TORAH.

Now the question is :
Is your congregation teaching you that TORAH was done away? If it is, then your congregation is not the same as in the book of Acts, the first Believers.

The Midrash says that each of us has 3 names :
1. The name that our parents call us,
2. The name that others call us, and
3. The name that we call ourselves.

The most important thing is what the LORD God calls us...The LORD God calls us to obey (shema' : שָׁמַע) and guard (shamar : שָׁמַר) the judgments (mishpatim) given in the Torah. As a reward, the LORD will likewise guard (shamar) the covenant (ha-brit: הַבְּרִית) and love (chesed: חֶסֶד) that the LORD gave to our fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

To know the truth about your identity - that you are a beloved child of God invested with divine authority given through Yeshua, the Living Torah - is the most important description about who you are...

SHABBAT SHALOM v' bamashiach Yeshua baruch Hu!

AN EXPENSIVE LESSON FROM HISTORY

AN EXPENSIVE LESSON FROM HISTORY
Andre Widodo
© ORI

Shalom,

On January 30, 1939, on the 6th anniversary of his rise to power, Hitler told the Reichstag : "And one more thing I would like now to state on this day memorable perhaps not only for us Germans. I have often been a prophet in my life and was generally laughed at. During my struggle for power, the Jews primarily received with laughter my prophecies that I would someday assume the leadership of the state and thereby of the entire nation and then, among many other things, achieve a solution of the Jewish problem. I suppose that meanwhile the laughter of Jews in Germany that resounded then is probably already choking in their throats. [applause; Hitler coughs]

Today I want to be a Prophet again :

If international finance Jews within Europe and abroad should succeed once more in plunging the peoples into a world war, then the consequence will be not the Bolshevization of the world and therewith a victory of Jews, but on the contrary, the destruction of the Jewish race in Europe. [applause]

And after that on September 1, 1939, the World War 2 was started.

Note :
Notice the word underline. When a leader address himself as a prophet with a mission, actually he/she will do it what he/she believes.

Now, let us see with the leaders in Iran.

President Ahmedinejad is a Shi'ite. He belongs to the most populous group in Shi'ite, known as "Ithna Ashari" or "the Twelvers". He believes on the returning of the Mahdi or the 12th Imam or "Mahdaviat" and as President, he must prepare the coming of the Mahdi, through chaos.

Notice the similarity pattern of "When a leader address himself as a prophet with a mission, actually he/she will do it what he/she believes".

History tells us :
When a leader has a mission to destroy/to kill something, we better take it seriously. We cannot assume that this leader would be rational or would be using common sense.

If Iran goes nuclear, these things would happen.
