Shalom,
Centuries before Yeshua (Jesus) walked the earth, Ezra the Scribe divided the first 5 books of the Bible -- the Torah -- into 54 portions so that in the course of a year the entire scroll would be recited during services.
This practice is still observed in synagogues around the world today. Yeshua (Jesus) said that these Scriptures plainly testify of Him :
Luk 24:27 KJV
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
Now you can better understand just how these Scriptures bear witness that Yeshua (Jesus) is the promised Messiah of Israel by studying the weekly Torah portion for yourself!
I understand that actually it should be started at Simchat Torah with:
Bereshit
Noach
Lech Lecha
Vayera
and now Chayei Sarah. Let us started following now.
Shalom chaverim!

ReplyDeleteBlessing in Yeshua's Name.
Amen Bro Baruch HaShem, b'Shem Yeshua HaMashiach
ReplyDeleteIn this portion of Torah, we can find a gentleman, his name was ELIEZER.
ReplyDeleteWho was ELIEZER?
ELIEZER was a GENTILE, from Damascus. He was a servant probably acquired by Abraham on his journey southward from Haran (see Gen 12:5).
ELIEZER is a picture of GENTILES who are grafted into the choosen people ISRAEL.
Isaac was from the bloodline of Abraham, and according to God's promises to Abraham in Genesis 15:3-4, Isaac was the only one who will be Abraham's heir. Not ELIEZER!
ELIEZER could be involved in the Abraham's richness, because he was GRAFTED to Abrahamic Covenant.
This is what Paul said in Romans 11:17.
In today's parashat, we read how faithful ELIEZER was to preserve Abraham's generation through Isaac. He went through the desert to find Isaac a wife. He went to help Abraham's son.
This is how the Gentiles suppose to be in their relation to Abraham's son, ISRAEL.
I agree, Bro.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this.
May I share this in my facebook, Bro?

ReplyDeleteAnother info about ELIEZER is, when Abraham was about to up sacrifice Isaac on the top of Mt Moriah, ELIEZER was with Abraham.
This is a picture of a faithful Gentile and it is really interesting.
