Shalom,
Rom 11:17
...and thou, being a wild olive tree, were GRAFTED [ἐγκεντρίζω - EGKENTRIZO] in among them, and with them partakest of the root and FATNESS [πιότης - PIOTES] of the olive tree;
As non Jew Believers, in Hebrew is called [גּיר - GER], Rabbi Sha'ul/Paul said that we are GRAFTED [ἐγκεντρίζω - EGKENTRIZO] to the Jewish people.
We are GRAFTED [ἐγκεντρίζω - EGKENTRIZO] by FAITH [ֱאמוָּנה - EMUNAH] through the blood of the Jewish Messiah, Savior of the World, YESHUA HA'MASHIACH [יֵשׁוּעֵ הֵמָּשִׁיחֵ].
Today, we are going to study the meaning of the word HEBREW [עְבִרי - IBRIY].
The Hebrew alphabet or ALEPH-BET is derived from an ancient Hebrew/Semitic alphabet made up of a series of pictographs, as we can see on the picture.

The word HEBREW [עְבִרי - IBRIY] consists of Hebrew letter AYIN-BET-RESH-YOD.
From the pictograph, we can see the meaning :
AYIN : the picture is an EYE, and its meaning is TO SEE.
BET : the picture is a TENT/HOUSE. Because the body of YESHUA is illustrated as BET-EL or HOUSE OF GOD or TEMPLE OF GOD, the letter BET means YESHUA.
RESH : the picture is HEAD OF THE MAN; THE FIRST; THE TOP; THE BEGINNING.
YOD : the picture is an ARM; HAND.
So the word [עְבִרי - IBRIY] or AYIN-BET-RESH-YOD simply means :
"SEE, YESHUA, AS THE MASTER OF THE HOUSE WITH HIS HAND".
The Hebrew word for SON is BEN [בּן - BEN], from the Hebrew letter BET-NUN. Because of that, the letter BET is also a picture of the SON OF GOD.
So, the word [עְבִרי - IBRIY] or AYIN-BET-RESH-YOD also simply means :
"SEE, SON OF GOD, AS THE MASTER OF THE HOUSE WITH HIS HAND".
