LIVING TORAH - HOLY SPIRIT

HOLY SPIRIT = SPIRIT OF THE LORD = SPIRIT OF Y-H-V-H.

Act 8:39
And when they were come up out of the water, the SPIRIT OF THE LORD caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Joh 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

HOLY SPIRIT is sent in YESHUA's Name, shall TEACH and REMIND us all things YESHUA had said.

YESHUA says :

Mat 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the TORAH, or the PROPHETS: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

HOLY SPIRIT will remind us about it also.

The Jewish Root of the New Testament

Rev 5:5
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the ROOT of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Rev 22:16
I YESHUA have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the ROOT and the OFFSPRING of David, and the bright and morning star.

Note :
Your Messiah is Jewish Messiah; from the tribe of Judah, the ROOT of King David, the OFFSPRING of King David...and in HIS life on Earth, HE was a TORAH - KEEPER.

To understand the New Testament, we must bring read it from the Jewish Root.

THE LIFESTYLE CHURCH OF ACTS - ACTS 21:20

The word CHURCH is an English word, comes from Greek word [ἐκκλησία - EKKLESIA], and comes from Hebrew word [קְהִלָּתִ - QEHILAT].

Example :

Mat 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my CHURCH [ GREEK = ἐκκλησία - EKKLESIA ] [ HEBREW = אֶת-קְהִלָּתִי - ET-QEHILATI ] ; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The root of Hebrew word [קְהִלָּתִ - QEHILAT] is the Hebrew word [ָקָהל - QAHAL].

And in Hebrew Bible, we find this word.

Num 10:7
But when the CONGREGATION [קָהל - QAHAL] [ἐκκλησία - EKKLESIA] is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

So, actually there was CHURCH [ἐκκλησία - EKKLESIA] in the Hebrew Bible, and it was called CONGREGATION [קָהל - QAHAL].

And in the New Testament, this CHURCH [ἐκκλησία - EKKLESIA] or [קָהל - QAHAL] had a lifestyle.

What was their lifestyle?

Act 21:20
And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF JEWS THERE ARE WHICH BELIEVE; and THEY ARE ALL ZEALOUS OF THE LAW.

The CHURCH OF ACTS :
1. They RECEIVED HOLY SPIRIT.
2. They BELIEVED in YESHUA THE MESSIAH.
3. They are ALL ZEALOUS OF THE LAW.

What about the CHURCH now?
1. They BELIEVE in YESHUA (JESUS) THE MESSIAH.
2. They RECEIVE HOLY SPIRIT.
3. But...they REJECT THE LAW.

Hey...why different?

The Bible in Act 21:20 says that they BELIEVED, they RECEIVED Holy Spirit, and they are all ZEALOUS for the Law / TORAH.

Holy Spirit will make and bring TORAH to life because Holy Spirit = the Living TORAH. Holy Spirit will remind the teaching of Yeshua (Jesus); see John 14:26.

Joh 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Yeshua's (Jesus') teaching never teach us to abolish the Law / TORAH; see Matthew 5:17.

Mat 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to complete.

Because of Matthew 5:17, the Holy Spirit will also remind us of this teaching and Holy Spirit will never teach someone to abolish the Law / TORAH, but bring the Law / TORAH to life.

If the CHURCH now is REJECTING the Law / TORAH, then whose teaching is that?

SHAVUOT / PENTECOST - Bring TORAH to Life

We are nearing the end of the 49 day "countdown" that runs from the [ראִשׁית קִצִיר - RESHIT KATZIR - FIRSTFRUIT] until [שבועות - SHAVU'OT - WEEKS / PENTECOST].

This year, SHAVU'OT / PENTECOST will be on 27 - 28 May 2012 or 6 - 7 Sivan 5772.

Remember the prophecy :

Jer 31:31
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a NEW COVENANT [בְּרִ֥ית חֲדָשָֽׁה - B'RIT CHADASHAH] with the HOUSE OF ISRAEL, and with the HOUSE OF JUDAH:

Jer 31:32
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Jer 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the HOUSE OF ISRAEL; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my LAW [תּוָֹרה - TORAH] in their INWARD PARTS, and WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Note :
1.
On 27 - 28 May 2012 or in Hebrew Calendar 6 - 7 Sivan 5772, we will celebrate SHAVU'OT / PENTECOST. We will celebrate the giving of the TORAH on Mount Sinai, and we will celebrate the giving of RUACH HA'KODESH / HOLY SPIRIT on Mount Zion.

The FEAST is named : SHAVU'OT in Hebrew [שבועות] which means WEEKS.

The FEAST is named : PENTECOST in English, comes from Greek word [πεντηκοστή - PENTEKOSTE].

The promise of the NEW COVENANT, whom was the promise made with? The promise was made with the HOUSE OF ISRAEL and the HOUSE OF JUDAH. (Read Jer 31:31).

What about the Gentiles / non-Jews?

The Gentiles / non-Jews are grafted in to them.

Rom 11:17
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a WILD OLIVE SHOOT, WERE GRAFTED IN among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree,

Rom 11:18
DO NOT ARROGANT TOWARD THE BRANCHES. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.

Rom 11:19
Then you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in."

Rom 11:20
That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear.

We, the Gentiles / non-Jews are grafted in to the HOUSE OF ISRAEL. Because of that, DO NOT BE ARROGANCE to them by saying the TORAH is abolished. Remember, it is them who support us in our faith in Jewish Messiah. Not us who support them.

Then, you say, "O God destroyed them 3000 Jewish people on Mount Sinai, so that the Gentiles / non-Jews can be grafted in 3000 people on the day of Pentecost."

That's true! They were killed because of their unbelief. That's why, you, Gentiles / non-Jews, do NOT be proud, but FEAR!

Remember, in the GRACE times, Ananias and Sapphira were killed because of their DISOBEDIENCE to the TORAH OF LIFE / RUACH HA'KODESH. (Please read Act 5).

So, with the coming of RUACH HA'KODESH / HOLY SPIRIT, is the TORAH abolished? What does HOLY SPIRIT's do?

Joh 14:26
But the Helper, the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will TEACH YOU ALL THINGS and BRING TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE ALL THAT I HAVE SAID TO YOU.

RUACH HA'KODESH / HOLY SPIRIT will :
-. TEACH US ALL THINGS Yeshua had said to us in all His Commandments.
-. REMIND US what Yeshua had said to us in all His Commandments.

HOLY SPIRIT will TEACH and REMIND us all the teaching of YESHUA. Yeshua was never abolished the TORAH, then the HOLY SPIRIT will teach us how to do the TORAH, because HOLY SPIRIT = LIVING TORAH.

HOLY SPIRIT never ever abolished the TORAH.

If you find a teaching teaches that the TORAH is nailed to the cross and only bring curses, the TORAH is abolished, this teaching is definitely NOT from HOLY SPIRIT.

Why? Because John 14:26...

Yeshua says :
Mat 5:17
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the TORAH or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to complete them.

HOLY SPIRIT will remind us this teaching also.

Sha'ul - the Rabbi from Tarsus

Who was Sha'ul?

1.
Sha'ul was a Jew, from Benjamin tribe, a Hebrew of Hebrews, a Pharisee, regarding the Law he was blameless.

Php 3:5
circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee;
Php 3:6
as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the Law, blameless.

2.
In front of Sanhedrin, he confessed that he IS a Pharisee. After he believed in Yeshua the Messiah, he kept his life as a Pharisee.

Act 23:6
Now when Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, "Brothers, I AM a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. It is with respect to the hope and the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial."

Note :
Sha'ul said, "I AM a Pharisee." (Present Tense). He did not say, "I WAS a Pharisee." (Past Tense).

3.
Sha'ul kept his name as "Sha'ul" for almost 15 years after he recieved Yeshua as his Messiah, and then he chose "Paul" as his name as his mission to bring Yeshua to the Gentiles.

Although he changed his name to "Paul", he remained a Jew all his life, indeed, an observant Jew (Act 16:3, Act 17:2, Act 18:18, Act 20:16, Act 21:23-27, Act 25:8; Act 28:17; and see Act 21:21), even a Pharisee (Act 23:6, Php 3:5), while nevertheless sparing no effort to bring to Gentiles the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah.

5.
Sha'ul was a Rabbi, under the leadership of Gamaliel, a teacher of the Torah / the Law.

Act 5:34
But a Pharisee in the council named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law held in honor by all the people, stood up and gave orders to put the men outside for a little while.

6.
Sha'ul expected us to follow him as he followed Yeshua the Messiah.

1Co 11:1
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Yeshua the Messiah said :

Mat 5:17
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

As Yeshua did not abolished the Law, Sha'ul also. Sha'ul's teaching did not abolished the Law because 1Co 11:1.

Is it possible for a man who already encounter Yeshua the Messiah who never abolished the Law, then teach other people to abolish the Law?

IMPOSSIBLE!

TORAH and ISRAEL

Is TORAH no longer valid?

Jer 31:36 CJB
"If these LAWS leave my presence," says ADONAI, "then the offspring of Isra'el will stop being a nation in my presence forever."

Jer 31:36 KJV
If those ORDINANCES [ֹחק - CHOQ] depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

The Hebrew word [ֹחק - CHOQ] simply means STATUE; LAW; REGULATION is derived from the Hebrew word [ָחַקק - CHAQAQ] means TO DECREE; TO ENGRAVE.

So, when the LAW is ENGRAVED, it cannot be destroyed or abolished.

As Israel is never stopped as being a nation, so is the LAW is never stopped in His presence.

Are you saying AMEN?

You do not support the root, but the root supports you - Rom 11:18

Romans 11:18
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

As Believers in Yeshua (Jesus), we need to recognize and appreciate the Jewish roots of our faith.

Our Bible (both Old Testaments and New Testaments) was written by Jews.

The prophets, patriarchs, and apostles were Jewish as well.

And, lest we, as Rabbi Sha'ul of Tarsus (Paul the Apostle) says “be tempted to boast” let us always remember that we worship a Jewish Savior, who was born Jewish, raised as Jewish, died as Jewish, and will return as Jewish to reign in Jerusalem forevermore.
