How did Rabbi Sha'ul write the New Testament?
2 Tim 4:13 KJV
The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the BOOKS [βιβλιον - BIBLION], but especially the PARCHMENTS [μεμβρανα - MEMBRANA].
2 Tim 4:13 CJB
When you come, bring the coat which I left with Carpus in Troas, also the SCROLLS [βιβλιον - BIBLION] and especially the PARCHMENTS [μεμβρανα - MEMBRANA].
In 2 Tim 4:13, we can see that Rabbi Sha'ul, in his journey, he always brings the SCROLLS, in Hebrew is [סֵפֶר - SEFER], which is the TORAH SCROLLS, and also he always brings his PARCHMENTS, SHEEP-SKIN, which is his writings.
What do we need to know about the TORAH SCROLLS and the PARCHMENTS?
A SEFER TORAH, Hebrew: [ספר תורה] or "TORAH SCROLLS" is a handwritten copy of the TORAH, the holiest book for the Jews. It must meet extremely strict standards of production. The TORAH SCROLL is mainly used in the ritual of TORAH reading during Jewish services. At other times, it is stored in the holiest spot within a synagogue, the ARON QODESH (HOLY ARK), which is usually an ornate curtained-off cabinet or section of the synagogue built along the wall that most closely faces Jerusalem, the direction Jews face when praying.
According to strict Jewish law, a SEFER TORAH is a copy of the formal Hebrew text of the Five Books of Moses hand-written on GEVIL (KOSHER animal hide) or KLAF (forms of parchment/KOSHER animal skin) by using a QUILL (KOSHER writing utensil) dipped in ink. Producing a SEFER TORAH fulfills one of the 613 MITZVOT.
Now, how did Rabbi Sha'ul write all of his letters in the PARCHMENTS?
As a SOFER, he knows what are the requirements to make a SEFER, which are :
1.) Must be using KOSHER GEVIL or KLAF.
2.) Must be using KOSHER QUILL.
3.) Must be using KOSHER alphabet.
The MIDRASH says that the Hebrew letters is THE HOLY TONGUE. It was deemed as the language of the angels. The early rabbis regarded the letters as existing independently in a transcendent realm, and taught that when Moses ascended Mount Sinai to receive the TORAH, he saw God designing crowns for the individual letters.
Dating back to Talmudic times, the Hebrew letters have not only been celebrated as holy, but also venerated as an actual tool for spiritual mastery. Traditionally, the two most preferred techniques have been gematriyah and notarikon. In gematriyah, words with dissimilar meanings but equal numerical values (since each Hebrew letter also has a number associated with it) are probed for their hidden linkages.
And the HEBREW letters are KOSHER letters.
There are GREEK MANUSCRIPTS of the New Testament out there, but all of these are not TRANSCRIPT (AUTOGRAPH). They are all RE-PRODUCTION of the TRANSCRIPTS (AUTOGRAPH) which had been translated into Greek. I confirm that.
But, what I want to share is : we must know and understand the background how the New Testament's PARCHMENT were written in accordance with strict Jewish law.
The TRANSCRIPTS/AUTOGRAPHS of the New Testament were written by the Jewish writers, who had qualification as SOFER, in KOSHER GEVIL (parchment), with KOSHER QUILL, and KOSHER alphabet, which is Hebrew language, and also their MOTHER TONGUE.
